Text
Q: How do I create objects/shapes?
A: All objects are created using the following steps:
-
Select the tool corresponding to the object you wish to create in the
Tools Palette.
The cursor will change to “cross hairs” indicating you are ready to draw draw an object.
-
Click and drag in your scrapbook page to create an object with the desired location and size.
-
You can
move and resize your object (unless it is
Locked) at any time.
HINT: If you plan to embed photos or clipart within the object, make the object the desired size
before adding photos/clip art. iRemember automatically scales photos/clip art to fit the object (while maintaining the aspect ratio) when an image is embedded.

Q: How do I add photos/clip art to my scrapbook page?
A: All “images” (photos or clip art) are embedded within an object.
The object provides clipping and layering for your image.
-
Create an object if one does not already exist.
-
Use any of the methods described in “Embedding Photos, Clip Art & Patterns in Objects” to embed the image.
The source of your image may be your hard drive, removable media (CD, DVD, memory card), or other applications such as Apple's iPhoto™.
-
Resize, rotate or set the opacity of the image using the
Image Tab of the
Inspector
optionally, you may also…
-
Reposition the image within the object using the Grabber Tool
-
For photos: use the Shape Tab of the
Inspector to set attributes such as the
stroke or shadow.
-
For clip art: you may wish to disable both the
stroke and
fill color to eliminate the border and background around the clip art.

Q: Why doesn't the embedded photo/clip art resize when I use the object's resize handles?
A: Objects and images (photos/clip art) are resized separately to allow the image to be easily cropped.
While it is not the way word processors work, it is the way desktop publishing applications work because it increases page design flexibility.
An embedded image may be resized with the Scale slider in the
Image Tab of the
Inspector.
Additionally, you can change which part of the photo is visible in the object using the
Grabber tool.
HINT: While using the
Arrow tool, option-clicking on the object is a shortcut to activate the
Grabber tool. Simply option-click and drag to move the photo within the object.

Q: How do I remove the white border from behind my clip art?
A: If the clip art came with iRemember, the white background (and border) isn't part of the clip art itself,
it is an attribute of the object containing the clip art. To remove these attributes try the following:
- Select the object.
- Uncheck the “Stroke” checkbox in the Shape tab of the Inspector.
- Uncheck the “Fill” checkbox in the Fill tab of the Inspector.
If the clip art is from a third party clip art library and the steps above do not remove the background, then the background is actually part of the clip art.
Either select another piece of clip art, or edit the clip art in an appropriate application for that type of file. (i.e. Photoshop for TIFF & JPEG, and Illustrator for PDF)
