| Tools Palette: Shape |

The Shape tool allows you to create objects using the following shapes:

Mouse click on the Shape tool popup menu in the Tools palette and select a shape, which will change the cursor to a “+”. Mouse click in the desired location on the active scrapbook page and drag to create a Shape object of the desired size. If you hold down the “Shift” key while creating a Shape, the newly created object will be restricted to its natural proportions.
The Make Natural Proportions command, available under the Align sub-menu in the Arrange menu, will make proportional any of the Shape objects. Below is a before and after of a star shape:

Use the Inspector Window to change the stroke (border line thickness, color, type, etc.), embed patterns, and embed and modify images.

To take advantage of the grid capabilities to precisely align objects, here is a summary of grid commands:
• Use the Show/Hide Grid command to show and hide the grid.
• Use the Snap to Grid command to turn on and off the snap to grid feature.
• Use the Align to Grid command to align the object to the grid.
• Use the Grid Settings… command to change the grid spacing and color.
