View Menu: Snap to Grid
Selecting “Snap to Grid” from the View menu (or holding the “Command” key down then pressing the “Y” key) forces all object moves, of all object types, to “snap” to the grid lines established for the active scrapbook regardless of whether the grid can be seen (Show/Hide).

A check mark to the left of this menu item means that Snap to Grid is enabled for all pages of this scrapbook. No check mark means this feature is turned off.

If there are multiple scrapbooks open, the active scrapbook is the forward most scrapbook and is the only scrapbook that does not have its name grayed out at the top of the scrapbook window.

The Snap to Grid feature expedites the alignment of multiple objects in order to make your page layout presentation look more attractive and organized.

Use the Grid Settings… command to change the grid spacing and color.
